11/1/26

Dear Family,

Aren’t epiphanies fun? This Tuesday one of our youth became amazed. I’ll start at the beginning. See the above picture. Bobby was describing how it’s good to be a light and how the lamps of old had oil that would help them burn. When the young person saw the picture of the lamp they declared, “Ohhhh, that’s why they call what the Genie comes out of a lamp. I thought it was just a weird teapot.”

Part of the lesson included shining a light from up high (representing Jesus – although Bobby let them know he’s not even pretending to be Jesus). The illustration was with mirrors and that When Jesus’ light shines on us we can reflect it to others and then the light goes back up to Jesus. It was fun to have the laser eventually get back to Bobby – the youth were excited when the illustration was complete.

Candy fest was delightful as usual. Our community has so many adorable children and their families. I enjoy seeing fun costumes from young to old. One friend told me her favorite memory of the night was when a young girl was doing jumping jacks of joy and telling me how much fun she was having. She was very animated and I asked if she had some sugar inside of her. “Oh, yes! Lots.” Candy in children is like catnip for cats. Fun to watch.

At the moment Bobby is not feeling well. Rich and I managed Sunday school fine, but one youth decided to text Bobby and ask what hurt. During the conversation the youth mentioned, “Bobby’s being a little dramatic. He said, ‘It was nice knowing you.’” Bobby insists that’s not overly dramatic at all, he may not live from this flue like illness. His fever is got up to 100.5 today.

So, thank you for praying for Bobby, that he gets better from the flue or eating something that didn’t agree with him. Please also pray for all the other people who may have had too much candy.

Before I leave you, I must share a fun quip from the game, “The Bible is funny.” You will have to look this one up though. “What not to say to your pastor.” Nehimiah 6:8.

May you enjoy the month to come, may your pets show you love when you pet them. May your friends smile when they see you, may your loved ones answer when you call. Love and hugs,   Cristy
