Dear Family,

This week had some exciting times and great fun.  Bobby had his first prophetic word during Middle school this week!  “Jesus says no bottle tossing during the lesson.”  This is also in the Bible, 2 Hesitations 4:6 so I know it’s true.

Youth group enjoyed a Sushi Go party.  It was fun to interact with the teens as they are figuring life out.  My attention was drawn to some girls because they were giggling about an AI boyfriend.  It was cute how he seemed to be complimenting.  One Middle school boy had to comment that having an AI boyfriend was “pathetic”.  I was thinking it could teach social skills and might be good.  Yet, I grew concerned, I asked, “Wait, what rating is this?  Can it be rated R?”  “Noo,” the girl said, “That costs extra.”

Bobby unearthed out an old game that has brought laughter, sore hands, and fun.  We will see how long it lasts.  Bob’s trash can makes me laugh.

Date night was lovely.  We stayed home and I lit a candle for a better atmosphere.  Bobby thought the “Sarlac Pit” scent was hilarious and had to post hoping someone noticed the reference. (They did.)

Our whole family enjoyed having Michael Meyers over as a blast from the past.  He was in youth group a while back but is now 28 years old.  How time flies.  He and Bobby enjoyed reminiscing and looking through old photos.

In the mornings when it is cold Bobby scrapes Adriel’s car as well as his own.  I think that is very kind of him.

Sunday morning Seth noticed there were no words up on the screen for our Church video.  He said, “I’ll go help” went to the back and fixed it.  I am blessed that he took the responsibility upon himself.

Adriel remains sweet and somewhat elusive.  I am blessed that she still give hugs when I see her.

May you find peace in your journey.  May God hold you in his arms and comfort your heart.  May you be purposeful in finding things to be thankful for.  Love and hugs,

Dear Family,

I am thankful for Christmas money and things that show my personality.  I’ll admit my super cool mask has caused fright.  75% of the time, people have to compliment me.  It draws comments.  For me though it shows my true personality – can’t stop smiling – life is crazy but good.  My teens said if I wear it around them they will walk on the other side of the street.  Bobby said I am not allowed to wear it at church.  Oh well – some things are for work only.

Bobby is thankful I help at youth group.  It is wonderful I am appreciated.  I also am blessed by all the hard work Bobby invests into our youth and homegroup.  He provides a safe place to gather and the kids enjoy their time.

Bobby made spaghetti and fish soup two different nights this week.  It was wonderful to eat as a family and enjoy each other's company.

The weeks are blending together – this COVID time will pass.  Life will get back to normal.  Love and hugs,

Dear Family,

Snow is so beautiful.  I wish it would drop by for a day or two.  Bobby and Adriel went to the mountains to snowboard.  I am glad they enjoyed themselves and glad they came back in one piece.  It is lovely that they enjoy each other's company.

Here is a Seth quote.  We were watching Jurassic World.  At the scene where a Cruise ship is going to the island, Seth said, “Oh, so this is like the Titanic with Dinosaurs?”

Seth continues to be sweet, go to youth group, clean when asked to, volunteer, and work.  I enjoy it when we pray together and I love that he is easy to get along with.

Bobby went through his shirts and gave many up for donation.  Yay for less clutter and giving to the homeless!   Bobby cooked several instant-pot meals.  They were yummy and we enjoyed eating as a family.

The message at Youth Group included the gospel presentation. I like that!  Our purpose is introducing people to God: telling how God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin so he can advocate for us at the Bema Seat.  May we all find deep peace knowing how much God cares and how wonderful His love is.

Adriel showed excitement because class was over for the night on Monday.  I enjoyed her adorable smile and joy.  She amazes me with her ability to stay up late and still succeed with work and school.  We had a lovely talk a different day and we enjoyed her company watching an old family favorite movie another evening.

May you rejoice in knowing God.  May you find joy in the people you encounter.  May you be a light in this crazy dark world.  Much love,

Dear Family,

Fresh beginnings are beautiful.  Potential, excitement, newness – all bring joy and resolve to be our best.  Would you believe several grocery stores ran out of celery and broccoli?  I enjoy shopping for Instacart and seeing the buying trends.  New Year's resolutions change behavior.  I wonder if these new choices will become habits.

Adriel’s bed frame broke when she jumped back to sit on it.  Adriel decided to buy her own frame because she wants to keep it when she leaves.  She is growing up.  Yay.

Adriel has the snowboarding bug.  She enjoys it and has found someone who will drive her.  Bobby is now looking into snowboards.  Oh, what fun.  Both delight in showing bruises so that is the entertainment I have to look forward to.

Adriel ate with us two times last week.  It was lovely to have her with us and chat about our days.

The youth group New Years Board Game party was a hit.  We kept distant in the gym as usual.  One mother I talked with said youth group is the only time her son leaves the house.  Bobby said he knows youth group is meeting a felt need.  The kids were talking about how excited they are to finally go to school in person.  Maybe it will really happen!

Seth said he would go to the youth group party for 10 minutes.  He stayed an hour or two and I saw him enjoying himself immensely.

Bobby made yummy Ham and bean soup.  It is a family favorite.  I am so glad he cooks.  Bobby enjoyed visiting with some young adults that returned from college for the holidays.  It was a treat to see them again.  Bobby relishes his time with those he ministered to in the past.  It is fun to see how people turn out.

May you also enjoy the relationships God has given you.  May you find peace in the stillness and joy in the steps you take.  Much Love,
