7/31/23

 Dear Family,

When Seth went to work on Monday, I knew he felt better.  Just like that – he seems fine.  Yay!  Seth helped this week with pruning Columbine, picking up pruned daisies, picking raspberries, and cleaning bathrooms.  He remains fun to watch.  I enjoy a hug or two when I see him.

Bobby has a lingering cough, but it doesn’t stop him.  He did a lot of pruning, weeding, and helping with the yard.  I am thankful he prioritized that.  We are planning on getting rid of some daisies, the grapevine, and another row of raspberries, in the fall.  He’s turning 50 this year, we can downsize the plants that are very prolific.

He cooked Broccoli Beef Thursday, and it was fabulous.  I was a little wary of the Tuna Mac and cheese he made but it was also delicious.

Adriel is lovely about letting me know she is home safe.  I appreciate her thoughtfulness.  I was able to visit her in Portland on Monday and it was beautiful to visit, get a meal, take a selfie, and spend time together.  She is a sweet and lovely person who is helping me grow in relationships with others and in my own personal growth.  I enjoy our time together.

May you also enjoy your time with those you encounter.  May God’s love pour into you so much that it falls onto others.  May you find joy in those you love and love in the world around you.  Hugs,

Cristy

7/24/23

 Dear family,

Seth pruned a lot of daisies this week.  I am so thankful for his help.  I would be so sore.  He also purchased motorcycle gear.  I am proud of his initiative.  He figured out where to go and did it.  He doesn’t get out much, so I am tickled.

Then Seth developed a fever, sore throat, chills, and cough.  He was sick enough that he had to reschedule motorcycle classes till September.  I felt terrible for him.  He is healing all on his own.  That is nice.  I am glad he is starting to feel better and probably won’t need to see a doctor.

Adriel continues to be sweet.  She played her Ukulele for me while at (her version of the) Portland beach.  It was a pleasant sound and I felt like I was in Hawaii with her.  It made my day.

Bobby is home safe.  I drove to get him and found that my pain was manageable by stopping often.  Although the drive was long it was pleasant.  It will be nice to have him home for a while.

May you find the sunshine to be a blessing.  May your love be fueled by God's abundance.  May you be glad to be God's.

            Much love,

PS, and now the sunflowers are happy.

7/17/23

 Dear Family,

I am so blessed that Adriel answers the phone even for a second.  She might be in the middle of a million things, but she wants me to know all is OK.  This is heartwarming.  She also sent me a kitten video which warms my heart.  If anyone wants to lift my spirits that’s one way to do it.  I’m a sucker for adorable or funny animals.

Seth pruned the Calla lilies, picked raspberries, mowed the lawn, and was good company when I saw him.

Bobby came home Saturday and left Sunday.  I am glad he is safely home whenever I do see him.

May you find strength in God to do the things he requires.  May you feel joy in knowing you are loved.  May you be glad for the life God has given you, much love,

Cristy

Also, please do pray for me, I'm sad Bobby is gone again.

7/10/23

 Dear Family,

Bobby being home had been lovely.  We really missed each other so it was good to spend time together on the days we had off.  We had a super fun date night that was the most convenient ever.  Walking across the street to the food trucks was so novel.  No fighting traffic, great food, and a nice atmosphere.  How fun!

Funny thing but I must mention that air conditioning and working indoors is a big blessing to me.  This heat is overwhelming, and I am very glad we have the means to escape it.

Adriel continues to answer texts and even complimented me on a project I finished.  She is so sweet!  I enjoy Facetiming her because she has fun things to watch.  She is having fun and doesn’t mind sharing her joy with us.

Seth remains amazing.  He continues to pick raspberries and he even picked weeds.  I am blessed to have his constant presence.  He appreciates our cooking and continues to help keep our church clean.   He thanked Bobby several times for making Chili and Bobby’s heart was full.

Smores' night at Duval’s was super nice.  They have created an amazing atmosphere in their yard, and it is very pleasant to sit and chat – also, candy!  The youth were fun and glad to be present as usual.

This begins another week at camp.  Please pray for Bobby, the camp leaders, and our High Schoolers.  May they have a great time where they learn more about God and His word.

May you also be blessed in your summer days.  May you enjoy the weather, beauty God brings, and may you drink lots of water to keep you healthy.  Much love,

Cristy

Also, Bobby went to Portland to visit Adriel and experience what she likes.  He said he will never do one thing again.  I thought that was funny.  Ask him about it.

7/3/23

 Dear Family,

I am so glad I can visit Adriel.  She made time for me on Monday.  I enjoyed thrift shopping with her, talking, and growing closer as adult friends.  She is finding herself and I am glad to be part of her life.  She also answered my calls and was sweet to include me in her life, especially while Bobby was gone.  I truly enjoyed spending time with her and playing with a friend’s kittens.  Oh, that filled my heart!

Seth continues to pick raspberries and I am glad he still gives hugs and is delightful to be with.

Bobby had a grand time leading games at camp.  He also helped with a cabin of six boys.  He came back tired, with a cold, and hungry.   I enjoyed shopping with him, cuddling, and knowing he is safe.  It is nice to have him home for a while.  We missed each other.

May you find time with loved ones to be fabulous.  May you enjoy the sun and flowers God bestows on our land.  May you eat and be satisfied.  Much love,  Cristy

PS, I spent much time in the garden this last week.  That container holds 9 cups so - now my back hurts.  This is why the blessings of raspberries get thrown out to my Facebook friends.  Thank you to those who answered the call and have picked raspberries for me not only this season but all the years past.  God's blessings are abundant, overwhelming, and fantastic.  Yay, God!!
