3/28/22

 Dear Family,

Spring Break brings a whole new schedule for Bobby.  I was blessed when the youth group came over on Tuesday to help with bark dust.  Every year this is a highlight for our yard.  I am thankful for their help.  Because they work so fast we have several hours to play games.  I love their clever answers in the game of things. Here is a sample: Things you shouldn’t do at your own wedding:  Football tackle the bride, flirt with the mother of the bride, the splits, compliment an old lady on her mustache, release 10 mice as a prank.

The youth group also came over to have dinner and a movie on Thursday.  They fill the house and are so fun to be with.

Bobby and I had a date this week and it was a joy to eat inside a restaurant.  What a novelty!  We also had fun together at a secret shop.  He is very patient and I am glad for his company.

Seth mowed the back lawn and it looks wonderful.  He also picked some weeds when I was angry that they had gone to flower.  Seth doesn’t like doing yard work but I am glad he does it anyway.

Adriel came over this week and we enjoyed a nice chat.  She is growing up in so many ways.  I enjoy seeing her and am glad she is willing to come over for a while.  I am also glad she is willing to chat on the phone also.  I like hearing how she is doing.

Spring brings flowers and ours are coming back after a year of hibernation.  How fun to see them shine!  May you find joy in all you do and strength in loving Jesus back.  May remembering how much you are loved give you the incentive to love all you see.  Love and hugs,

3/21/22 First day of Spring!

Dear Family,

Happy first day of spring!  Spring rain brings flowers.  I find it interesting that something so dreary, fun-killing, and cold is truly a blessing.  I think this is a life lesson that needs merit.  Even though circumstances may seem horrible they are helping us grow.  May you thank God for rain as you eat your fruit and veggies today ;-).

I enjoy walking and talking with my friends.  I was walking with a friend while we played Pokemon.  I notice my bag was full.  I commented that I was going to heal the wounded.  She exclaimed, “The power of Christ compels you!”

During Youth group, the youth enjoy filling out the blanks ahead of time, and sometimes it’s a guess.  Check out this picture, what do you think the words should be?  I’ll let you know at the end what one youth blurted at the beginning of the lesson.

Bobby made several fabulous meals this week and I am blessed that I don’t have to.  I sure do enjoy eating – cooking on the other hand has never been fun.  I am so glad Bobby and I went to counseling all those years back and decided that I don’t need to be the one that cooks.

Bobby is also supportive of me even though my hours are less this month.  I am noticing that all the grocery stores are experiencing this.  I called all the stores I work at in my area and none had hours for me (when they normally would have).  My friend works at another brand of grocery store and is experiencing fewer hours as well.  Apparently, my line of work has some seasonality.  Thank goodness spring break brings an opportunity for fun with the youth group.

I am delighted that Bobby found Young Sheldon season 2.  I love comedy and am glad for a family show that warms my heart.

Seth is always good for a hug.  He prays with me when I ask him to and he is plugging away at college.  I am glad to have him ever-present and helping eat leftovers.

Adriel was willing to bring food over this week for our lunch date.  In the interest of having more time together, I told her I didn’t mind bringing her clean laundry to her.  She’s so sweet.  I love listening to how her life is and knowing she is still OK, alive, and growing.

Here’s the answer someone guessed about the blanks, “God used a prescription to discover his allergies to people.”  I love what the youth have to say.

May you enjoy the beauty of rain and know that God is at work.  May you enjoy God’s bountiful food, delightful blessings, and friendly hugs.  Much love,

3/14/22

 Dear Family,

Our heater is going out so I had a salesperson over to discover options.  One thing I was hoping for was different temperature settings in each room so each person could create their own comfort level.  The person was thinking that might be impossible with our system.  I said, “It’s OK, that was just a pipe dream.”  Seth had to chip in, “Way to dream big mom.”

Bobby made several dinners this week and I love his yummy cooking.  He also cleaned a drain out which is a wonderful loving thing to do because that means I don’t have to do it.  Yay!!

Bobby came home from a snow camping trip with fun stories and happy memories.  I gave him a coming home gift and he said, “I might have to leave more often.”  This gave me pause.  Do I want that?     There is a song that plays at my work that makes me laugh.  “I want a lover that won’t drive me crazy.”  I hear that line over and over again.  What makes me laugh is, isn’t that part of the fun of relationships?  Do you enjoy pushing each other’s buttons?  If someone scares me at work I say, “Good job, in my family you would have won big time.”  I don’t know – sometimes it is fun to get people.

Bobby reminded me to go to AWANA this week.  I completely forgot and was glad he let me know.  I am glad we are there for each other in so many ways.

May you find strength in those you live with.  May you give joy because it has been poured into you.  May your life be a testimony of how good God truly is.  Much love,

3/7/22

 Dear Family,

This is how I read a prayer request, “That Con would go to hell.”  The youth and I both knew that wasn’t what it said.  We eventually were able to figure out the bad handwriting.  “That band would go well.”  That’s a much better prayer to pray out loud don’t you think?

This week Adriel called me while we were both driving towards home.  I enjoyed chatting with her and when I arrived home I put her on speakerphone with Bobby and me describing the duties of her new position at the law firm.  Now she is becoming the Administrative Assistant.  It was fun when she arrived with laundry in hand.  Bobby didn’t expect the live version of Adriel so we had a great dinner together because Adriel couldn’t pass up his amazing cooking and it was there, smelling wonderful.  “Ohh, can I have some?”

Seth continues to be a sweet and loving son who helps out when needed.  This week he mowed the back lawn and it is beautiful.  I am glad for his voice and sweet hugs.

Friday night has become a monthly games night at church.  It was a fun idea and I will enjoy going to play at least one game before I fade into a sleepy bear.  I enjoyed seeing young and old gather.

May you find people who share an interest with you.  May you delight in good conversation.  May you laugh hard at the silly things you hear or say.  Love and hugs,
