Dear family,
God
is good I am glad to find things to praise Him about weekly. Here are the fun
things our youth shared this week. Tuesday night, OK, this one went above most
of the kids’ heads. A middle schooler wanted us to pray about her dad’s
upcoming colonoscopy. An older person ended up with that request. He prayed
everything would come out smoothly. (It did, dad is fine.)
Wednesday
night there was more angst about Bobby having accidentally shredded some of the
students’ paperwork. Candy is on the line here. One student wanted to bring his
paperwork in again and get candy again like Devlin. Bobby was sure that this
student had already brought his in (and it hadn’t been shredded) so he went to check.
Meanwhile the student complained that Devlin got two candy bars because his had
been shredded. Bobby came back with the book of papers. “I have one of yours
and two from Devlin.” Oh, the outcry! Bobby deflected the entire process by
starting a new subject. “The world cannot handle two of you!” This was agreed
upon and the outcry was squelched. (Names have been changed to protect the
guilty.)
Sunday
School time was very pleasant. Our youth are so fun to be with even with Bobby
and the middle schoolers gone on a retreat. I enjoy, “The Bible is funny” card
game very much and wish I had recorded more. This is the only one, it’s
hilarious because it’s so unlikely. “The vibe of my friend group.” 1 Samuel
1:14, “How long are you going to be drunk?”
Bobby
came back from Middle school retreat, tired, safe and sound. He’ll be preparing
for a pastors retreat at Seaside next weekend. Pray for his stamina as he wants
to paint the youth room as well. Or just pray that he has wisdom and sleeps
when he can. (And that he doesn’t get sick.)
Thank
you for your love and prayers.
Cristy
PS I had to take that picture because it was hilarious how big the cards were.
